Lane Peak: Zipper & Lovers Lane

Lane Peak via a ski approach. We'll kick steps up the Zipper with the skis on our packs, then ski down the scramble route via the Lane/Denman saddle.

Carpool from Seattle, aiming to be at the Longmire gate well before it opens.

OLD PLAN:  We'll go prepared for an Intermediate ice climb, but there's no guarantee that it'll actually be an ice climb.  I could not go in the first place, or it could go but just be a snow-scramble.

NEW PLAN:  Given the amount of snow, there is no ice to climb, and current conditions lend themselves better to a ski tour than a climb, so that's what we'll do.

Required Equipment

Necessary gear would include backcountry skis with skins, ski crampons, regular crampons that fit your ski boots, one ice axe, and a light harness (we'd bring one scramble rope for the group.)
