Intermediate Alpine Climb - Eldorado Peak/Northeast Face

Alpine Ice Climb for Kitsap Intermediates

  • Sat, Sep 21, 2024 — Sun, Sep 22, 2024
  • Kitsap Branch Climbing Program
  • Climbing
  • Intermediate Alpine
  • Adults
  • Intermediate Ice Climb
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 6,700 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 8,868 ft

All participants are expected to participate actively in planning, routefinding and decision-making. This is an exploratory climb, but we should be able to find some ice in September.

We will cover much of the elevation gain on day one to reach a high camp. We'll start early on day two and look for the most viable route based on conditions. If feasible, we will climb some ice pitches and summit. Either way, we will plan to break camp and get back to the trailhead later on day two.

Each participants' share of the camping permit will be $11.

Leader's permission required. When requesting it, please describe your ice climbing experience and connection to the Kitsap Branch.

To be discussed via email.
