Chair Peak/Northeast Buttress (winter)

Trip

Intermediate Alpine Climb - Chair Peak/Northeast Buttress (winter)

Steep snow w/ a little ice on Chair Peak.

  • Intermediate Ice Climb
  • Challenging
  • Pace: Moderate

This is hit and miss; dependent on conditions.

Assuming it goes, we'll go at a moderate pace.

I rated it challenging because there's a little bit of everything here: some mixed rock and ice at the beginning, some steep snow, perhaps a veggie belay or two, and some ice too... The approach has some avy considerations to boot.

We may move it up a week, a day, or back, again, depending on conditions.

Park at Alptental parking lot. Not sure we'll need a NW Forest Pass; will probs be skiers erywhere.
