DESCRIPTION:Spend 12 days trekking hut-to-hut in the heart of the Swiss Al
 ps – the Jungfrau Region – and experience the valleys\, pastures\, and
  massive peaks that make this one of the top trekking destinations in Euro
 pe.  We’ll trek in the shadows of the massive Eiger and Jungfrau\, hike 
 along the majestic slopes of the Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen valleys\, a
 nd tackle Hohtürli\, the highest pass on the Swiss Alpine route.\nThis st
 renuous route (111 miles and 44\,000’ gain total\, with an average of 9 
 miles and 3\,400’ gain per day) offers intense physical challenge reward
 ed with breathtaking views\, quaint alpine villages\, and relaxing evening
 s in classic European mountain huts.  Participants must have experience an
 d confidence with strenuous trekking on rugged terrain\, including steep s
 cree/talus slopes\, narrow paths with modest exposure\, ladders that must 
 be ascended/descended\, and\, depending on snowpack levels\, low-risk snow
 field crossings.  Participants must also be in excellent physical conditio
 n\, and demonstrate their ability to do 12+ miles and 4\,500’+ gain in a
  single day with a loaded pack.  Participants will need to supply and carr
 y their own trekking gear (clothing\, 10 essentials\, lunches\, snacks\, t
 oiletries)\, but will not need to supply or carry shelters\, sleep systems
 \, or stove/fuel.  We’ll stay at remote huts and sleep in 6+ person\, do
 rmitory-style bunk rooms.  All breakfasts and most dinners will be provide
 d during our 12-day trek\, and all huts will have restrooms and showers.  
 We’ll need to purchase (and carry) our own lunches and snacks\; we’ll 
 be able to purchase lunches and light snacks at many of our huts\, as well
  as in towns both before our trek (in Interlaken) and halfway through our 
 trek (in Mürren).\nNOTE:  THE $2175 MEMBER FEE SHOWN IS FOR THE 50% DEPOS
 IT ONLY\; REMAINING 50% IS DUE IN LATE SPRING 2024.  APPLICATIONS/PERMISSI
