Let’s meet at 6am Saturday morning at the 65th P&R.

Bing maps indicates distance of 125 miles and drive time of 2 hrs and 45 minutes.  Drive I-5 North.  Take the Hwy 20 exit (just beyond Mt. Vernon) and drive east to Sedro Wooley.  Turn north on Hwy 9 to Deming.  Turn east on Hwy 542 to Glacier.  From Glacier drive 13 mi. Just before Nooksack River Bridge turn left on Hannegan Pass (Nooksack River) Road. In about 1.5 mi, take left fork, Ruth Creek Rd (Forest Road 32), and continue 4.5 mi to road end at Hannegan Campground (3,000 ft).

Let’s begin making carpool plans.  Best way to do that is email everyone indicating you can drive (and including it on the equipment spreadsheet described below).  If there is a more convenient place to gather for carpooling other than the 65th park & ride just email the group with an alternative suggestion.

This climb covers 16 ~ 17 miles and 6,400 ft elevation gain on the Mt. Shuksan quad.  This will be a fun one, with moderate glacier climbing followed by a class 3 ~ 4 scramble to the Icy Peak summit.

Please obtain leader permission prior to registering for this climb.  Providing a list of climbs / scrambles you have completed over the last six months (or so) and your current conditioning regime will accelerate the permission process.

Registration opens on 7/15 @ 10am and closes on 8/20 @ 5pm
