Meet at Martin Way Park and Ride on June 27 at 1 pm. Alternative meeting place near Mt. Baker to be selected for those who need to meet up on June 28.
Leaders permission required. E-mail Mike Rowswell at mnrowswell@hotmail.com. Preference given to Olympia students until June 15. Others will be placed on a waiting list and added to the climb if it doesn't fill by the 15th.
Assistant lead and one rope leader from Olympia needed.
Slots for 6 students are available (or for others after June 15)
Required Equipment
- The Ten Essentials
- Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
- Crampons
- An ice axe (not technical ice tools)
- A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder
- A sleeping pad
- A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
- Webbing and accessory cords
- 6 straight gate carabiners
- 2 locking carabiners
- Large pear-shaped carabiner
- Belay device
- Climbing harness
- Helmet
- Rescue pulley
- Fleece or puffy jacket
- Rain jacket and full-zip rain pants
- Warm gloves or mittens
