Basic Glacier Climb, preference given to Basic students requiring glacier credit until 7/24, then open to other basic students. The roster is full (as of 7/20) but go ahead and add yourself to the waitlist when the registration opens on 7/24.

  • The Ten Essentials
  • Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
  • Crampons
  • An ice axe (not technical ice tools)
  • A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder
  • A sleeping pad
  • A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
  • Webbing and accessory cords
  • Straight gate carabiners (min. 4 - however many you need to keep your gear neat on the harness)
  • 5 locking carabiners
  • Large pear-shaped carabiner
  • Belay device
  • Climbing harness
  • Helmet
  • Rescue pulley
  • Fleece or puffy jacket
  • Rain jacket and full-zip rain pants
  • Warm gloves or mittens
