Basic Glacier Climb - Mount Shuksan/Sulphide Glacier

This is a mentored lead for Jason Wilson - Preference will be given to Olympia Basic students who need a glacier climb to the beautiful, very popular and iconic Mt. Shuksan.

Time and meeting place will be discussed when we get closer to the climb date.  As will group gear and carpool arrangements. 

This is a mentored lead for Jason Wilson.  Registration will not be done until after crevasse lecture and crevasse rescue field trip.  Please do not contact the leader or mentored leader until June 10! After June 10th preference will be given to students of Olympia Basic Climbing Course that need to complete a glacier climb.  After July 10th the trip will be open for anyone to sign up.

  • Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)

  • A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder

  • 6 straight gate carabiners
