Basic Glacier Climb - Mount Olympus/Blue Glacier

This will be a long and strenuous 3 day climb.

TBD We will drive to the trailhead Friday night and car camp so we can get an early start Saturday morning.  Details will be emailed the Tuesday prior to the climb.

This will be a moderate paced climb.  We will do the 17 mile approach at a 2 miles per hour pace.  To do this climb in 3 days requires that all members of the party are in excellent condition.  Do not contact the leader to request permission to register prior to May 15, 2017.

  • Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)

  • An ice axe (not technical ice tools)
  • A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder
  • A sleeping pad

  • 2 locking carabiners
  • Large pear-shaped carabiner
