Meet at 6 pm at the Talapus Lake Trailhead at Lookout Point. From Seattle, take I-90 to exit 45. Turn left at end of exit and right at first road junction onto FR 9030. Continue 2.4 miles to end at trailhead parking lot.  If full, head back down road and look for parking on right side. Restroom at the trailhead.

Road to the trailhead usually has scattered potholes - high clearance vehicles recommended. Driving route is dirt and gravel starting shortly after leaving I-90.

Northwest Forest Pass and Alpine Lakes Wilderness Permit required, both available at trailhead.

We'll stick together as a group at about ~4.0-5 mph, and will stop at both lakes to enjoy the views. Please meet at the trailhead at 6:00 pm so we can meet with introductions, discuss conditions on the trail and group goals, and start shortly thereafter.

Please contact the leader before registering if you have not recently done a trail run of similar mileage and elevation gain, and have any doubt about your fitness and stamina to keep up.
