Frontcountry Trail Run - Golden Gardens
*Morning* sand conditioning workout. Join us for a morning conditioning run at Golden Gardens. We will be doing a fartlek workout on the beach.

We will meet at 6:30am at the south side of the Bathhouse. This is technically "Miri's Cafe" but it isn't open right now.
We will be doing a fartlek workout on the Golden Gardens beach. For a fartlek, you alternate between going fast and slow. We will be going fast (~70% speed) on the beach, then slow (cool down speed) on the trails/sidewalks back to our start point.
Format:
- Warmup (~1 mile)
- 3-5 Running drills
- 1 lap as a group
- Remaining laps at people's own paces
- (optional) Cool down (~1 mile)
Each loop is about 3/4 of a mile. People will be doing 3-5 sets.
If you are new to sand workouts, you can run on the wet sand to make things easier. Do whatever feels right for your body, do not try to push through pain. In theory you should keep moving, a fartlek is all about speed play, but stop if you need to stop.
Please wear running shoes and do not try to run barefoot.
Conditioning workouts take anywhere from 1-1.5h. We will never be more than a half mile away from the cars, so you do not need a running pack unless you want to wear it for training.
There are bathrooms and water fountains at the park.
