Frontcountry Trail Run - Cedar River Trail

Intimidated by trail running? Don't be! This is an extra-wide trail with minimal inclines/declines...think neighborhood hills, not mountains. We will run 3 miles out & the same back by the river. A perfect Sat AM jog to start your weekend!

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 270 ft
  • Pace: 11 - 12 min miles

Meet at 8:45 am at Cedar River Pipeline Road trailhead @ 23921 SE 244th Street, Maple Valley. No parking pass required.

We will be running S/SE along the Cedar River Pipeline to Landsburg Road, crossing over the Summit/Landsburg Bridge to the Cedar River Trail, coming back N/NW on the CRT to 242nd Way SE/SE 244th St. and back to our cars.

No restrooms at trail head. There is one at the 1/2 way point (3 miles), which is where we'll stop for a quick break.

We'll stick together as a group at about ~5 mph until we get to 1/2 way point, then stop for 5-10 min - perfect for a quick snack! The trail is extra wide with a couple of small hills. Even though the return route runs parallel to the stream, we will all stick to the main trail - both for safety and collective experience of the group. Please meet at the trailhead at 8:45 am so we can meet with introductions, discuss conditions on the trail and group goals, and start by 9 am.

Please contact the leader before registering if you have not recently done a trail run of similar mileage and elevation gain, and have any doubt about your fitness and stamina to keep up. Also, if you are a fast runner and feel ~5 mph with a couple of stops along the trail is insufficient of a work-out for you, please consider if this trip is a good match for your abilities. We run as a group.
