This is the 1st of 5 day hikes in Yosemite National Park from Sept 8-12.  The trails are designed to showcase the best views, trees, waterfalls, geology and history that this park has to offer.  The weather should be mild (average temps 40-70 F)

Pace will be moderate, with plenty of time for taking in the scenery.

Proposed Hike:  Happy Isles to Nevada Falls   7.4 mi/ 2446'   https://www.gaiagps.com/public/BfhKJ7HX1skcH8qL9Bx9dJbo/

Please Note:  Hikes may be changed due to weather/trail conditions, but will be approximately similar in difficulty/distance

Yosemite National Park does not require a timed entry reservation, but does charge entrance fees (National Park Pass)

Participants are responsible for their own transportation.  The nearest airport is Fresno.  Leader will be flying here and renting a car/van.  You will need to arrive on Sept 7 and drive to Curry Village in Yosemite (2.5 hr).  Information will be sent to participants to coordinate arrival/transportation details.

Lodging arrangements:  Leader has booked two heated canvas tent cabins (sleeping 4) in Curry Village (Sept 7-11) and two at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge (Sept 11-13).  Participants can request to stay here if they like along with leader permission for the trip. Note: one of the beds at Curry Village is a double bed, requiring two people to share a bed, the other two are singles.  There may also be mixed genders sharing the tent cabins. Bathroom/shower facilities nearby.  Cooking will be camping style.  It is possible to rent cooking gear from REI in Fresno.

Lodging fee approx $500 pp (total for 5 nights)

Along the way, there will be opportunities to check out the Visitor's Centers, the Art and Nature Center, the Pioneer History Center, the Yosemite Museum, and possibly an evening Stargazing tour and other Ranger-led evening programs.

Participants must be able to commit to the entire trip due to transportation and lodging arrangements, and only one leader permission request is needed.

My style:  I am adventurous, curious and love to be "awed" by Nature.  As a leader, I tend to the quieter side and my style is more relaxed.  While I love to hike, I am also willing to make space for picture-taking, flowers, critters, geology, culture and views along the way.   I value the journey as much as the destination and strive to foster hiking as a wholistic experience (body, soul, spirit).

Meet at the Happy Isles Trailhead at 9am.  This is in the Yosemite Valley area.
