  • Mileage: 7.1
  • Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph

NOTE:

  • This is an affinity group hike for those in their 20s and 30s. Please only register if you are in your 20's-30's and looking to meet fellow young adults who enjoy hiking.

This is a hike that takes place in Anacortes on Fidalgo Island (NNW of Seattle). The main destination will be Whistle Lake which is in the middle of the Anacortes Community Forest. The lake is really nice (pictured) and makes for a peaceful spot to take in both the view and the surroundings.

The route will consist of a somewhat convoluted loop through the forest and around the lake so that we are able to get the distance as specified in the hike stats. I haven't done this exact loop before so be prepared for a bit of an adventure (stopping at intersections to check a map, etc.).

Also, prior to signing up for this hike, please take into account the following:

  • We'll be going at what I consider a casual pace (please note the pace provided above).
  • Please be prepared for inclement weather seeing as this is a Spring hike.

Meet at 11 AM at a Park and Ride (provided in the hello hiker e-mail).

  • Please arrive on time and account for traffic.
  • (optional) We'll carpool from the meeting location to the trailhead.

Trailhead: Sugarloaf Mountain Trailhead

  • Permits (Trailhead Only): None!
