This is a after-hours night hike, leaving the cars at 6:30pm.
Please bring a pack that's at least 15% of your body weight.
This trip is happening regardless of the weather.
The trail gets very muddy and slick when wet.
A Discover Pass is NOT needed since we're outside the gate.
Tip: Pack water (8 lbs/gal) and dump it out on the summit.
No bathroom at TH (there is one at official TH past the gate).
Sunset is at 5:35pm.
We should be back to the cars around 8:45pm.
Here's some general route info.
This is a "conditioner" so we don't need to stick together as one big group, however I don't want the last person to be by themselves. I'm thinking we'll eventually split into a couple different clusters. Bring warm clothes since we'll all wait on the summit for everyone to arrive before heading down as one big group.
To get an idea of the slope of the route...Mt Si is 800 ft/mi (8 mi RT and 3200 gain), Tiger Cable Line is 1250 ft/mi (3.2 mi RT and 2000 gain), and Mailbox Peak is 1600 ft/mi (5 mi RT and 4000 gain).
Here's our approximate route (zoom in for more detail).
When to meet:
We'll leave the cars and start hiking @ 6:30pm
Where to meet:
Cable Line TH (park outside the gate), elev 490 ft
I-90 exit 20 then 0.4 mi SW to end of paved road
Lat/Long = 47.530747, -121.987689
10+ min drive from I-90/I-405 intersection
