Day Hike - West Tiger Mountain No. 3

The third hike in a series: Less Traveled Trails on Tiger Mountain. Karen Wallace and Danielle Graham will be co-leading Thursday hikes in November and December. Week 3 is West Tiger #3 starting at High Point, and using the Bus, Poo Poo Point, West Tiger RR Grade, and Seattle View Trails to reach the summit via less-used trails.

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers activity.
  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 8.7 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,100 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,522 ft

We will meet at 10 am at the High Point parking lot, off of Exit 20, I-90.  There are restrooms.  A Discover Pass is needed.

This trip is listed as challenging as we will be taking the long way up Tiger 3, and we will be using the not-so-well used Seattle View Trail.  We will keep a comfortable and steady pace.  If the weather is pleasant, we will take a relaxing lunch break.  If not, we will still have a comfortable pace, but will keep our breaks a little shorter.  Participants should be prepared to bring poles and microspikes if Tiger has seen and snow and/or ice.
