EARLY SEASON CONDITIONING HIKE. We'll take this 8.4 mile, 2700 feet elevation gain out-and-back hike at a steady pace for good exercise while enjoying three panoramic viewpoints and lovely forest.

9AM at the Chirico Trailhead parking lot on Issaquah-Hobart Road, just south of Seattle Paragliding.  Participants are encouraged to connect with each other to arrange carpools.

We will start at the parasail parking area (Chirico Trailhead), first hike up to Poo Poo Point, then follow West Tiger RR Grade to the One View Trail, go right on the  Tiger Mountain Trail for .1 miles to the Hidden Forest Trail, and take Hidden Forest left for .2 miles to the Main Tiger Mountain Road.  We'll follow the road north for .7 miles to an unnamed junction, then east for about .1 miles to the West Tiger 1 Hikers Hut and viewpoint.  We'll return by the same route.

This is a conditioning hike so participants should be 

 in good condition to hike on a fairly steep grade at a steady moderate pace (1.5 mph up, 2-2.5 mph down) with few rest stops.  Please do not sign up for this hike if you haven't hiked at this pace on a strenuous route comfortably in the recent past.

We will hike rain or shine, so good raingear, non-cotton layers, warm hat and gloves, and sturdy waterproof footwear with thick grippy soles are a must.  There has recently been as much as 18 inches of snow on the upper traces and ice above the lower parasail launch area so microspikes, trekking poles, waterproof footwear and gaiters are required.  

Map and compass and familiarity with our route are mandatory - if people get separated from the group the Tiger Mountain trail system can be a maze, very easy to get lost
