Day Hike - West Tiger Mountain 1, 2 & 3

Tiger Mountain Random Walk. We will randomly choose a direction at each intersection for the first half of the hike. Then we’ll practice our navigation skills to return to the trailhead.

Tradition Lake Trailhead 9:30am.  Discover pass required.

COVID-19 vaccination required for participants. 

Tiger Mountain has a variety of trails to explore. Most of them are not crowded.  We will randomly choose our direction at each intersection during the first half of the hike.  Our target will be a total of 8 to 10 miles and 2500’ to 3000’ of elevation gain.  For the second part of the trip, we’ll practice navigation skills to choose a route back to the trailhead.

Participants should be willing to participate in navigation, but no prior navigation experience is required.

 Bring mask to wear when passing other hikers.  Bring snacks, lunch and hand sanitizer.

Hiking poles and yaktrax or micro spikes recommended in case we encounter a little snow.
