  • Mileage: 9.8 mi

  • High Point Elevation: 2,917 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-2.5 mph

We will meet at the Chirico Trailhead (paraglider field) off Issaquah/Hobart Road at 8:15am, ready to hike at 8:30am. The trailhead is located at the north end of the parking lot where the trail starts out across the field. There is plenty of space for about 60 cars in the main lot and no parking pass is needed here. There are several porta-potties at the south end of the parking lot. Just in case, there is also a privately owned overflow parking lot 600 feet north towards Issaquah on the opposite side of the road that charges a $5 parking fee and has room for 40 more cars.

This is a strenuous hike and participants need to have recent experience hiking 2-2.5 mph on a similar hike. We will head up the Chirico Trail to Poo Poo Point, take a short break, then follow Poo Poo Point Trail to One View Trail, cut over to and climb steeply up Poo Top Trail to West Tiger Mountain #1, around on the Bypass Trail to the Hiker’s Hut where we will stop for lunch and enjoy the view. We will continue over to West Tiger #2 and begin descending the Seattle View Trail down to West Tiger Railroad Grade then back to Poo Poo Point Trail where we will then begin backtracking to Poo Poo Point and back down the Chirico Trail to our starting point.

Trip will commence rain or shine. Except for safety concerns, this is the Pacific Northwest and weather happens; what better opportunity to fine-tune our gear!
