We will be meeting at 8:00 AM at the North Kitsap Viking Park & Ride near the Highway 3/305 Interchange in Poulsbo (21711 Vetter Road).
It's about an 1 1/2 hour drive to the trailhead plus a stop in Blyn at the Longhouse Market & Deli (there are restrooms). We will be parking by the gate next to Madison Falls. Drivers - ONP parking pass needed.
We will be shuttling people to the Herrick Road Trailhead (about 15 minutes away) since there is very limited parking.
There is gain and loss along the trail, so trekking poles are recommended. We will make a series of stops to identify flowers, plants, or wildlife (if we're lucky). And for our lunch stop, there is a picnic shelter at the former Altair Campground close to the river. If the weather turns inclement or how the group feels at lunch, we may opt to return via the Road back to Madison Falls TH...close in total mileage but way flatter in comparison.
Depending on when we complete the hike & the hikers' plans to return home, we may also consider dinner out TBD.
