Day Hike - Watershed Park

This is an after-school hike for families with children through forested parks that lace through Olympia’s beautiful Wildwood Neighborhood, including the undeveloped portion of Watershed Park west of Henderson, Trillium Park, and Rowan hillside park. We can talk about the history of the neighborhood and the glacial geology that shaped the forested ravines and ponds that give this neighborhood its “wild woods”. We’ll finish with hot drinks.

  • Easy
  • Casual
  • Mileage: 2.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 100 ft

This is a family hike with priority given to kids with adults:

  • The hike is appropriate for children of all ages but trails are not suitable for strollers.
  • The trails are single-track paths through ferns and dense undergrowth and may be muddy.
  • Water-resistant boots will help keep you dry.
  • We will hike rain or shine.

We will meet at a time convenient for after-school family schedules (probably at 3:30 pm) at the Hike Leader’s home in the neighborhood. Specific directions will be given in a pre-Hike email. We anticipate hiking for about 2 hours.
