Wagonwheel Lake & Ridge above (S) (GT Mt Steel No. 167, CC Mt Skokomish-Lake Cushman) 6.4 mi. rt. 3937' gain. Hike from Staircase RS up wagonwheel lake trail in the Olympics. The wagonwheel lake trail is steep, Our goal would be the open ridge 0.5 mi N. of the lake.(an open slope, not too brushy, but no trail). Once on top of the ridge, it has a broad meadow of wild flowers and some low craggly dwarf trees with a 360 degree panoramic view of peaks in all directions. Pace will be moderate.
