8:45 AM at Parking lot – Fauntleroy & Rose St, West Seattle
A Naturalist Study Group Trip. Study Group members automatically have leader permission. Non-study group members may sign up with leader beginning 6 days before trip, space permitting. We will meet at the parking lot, arrange car pools & get on the 9:25 Am Vashon Ferry. Bring all weather gear, lunch, binoculars, a scope (optional), & a bird book (optional). We will take the Vashon Ferry to Vashon Island where we will be joined by a local birder. We will visit 3 or 4 beach sites & one lake. We will see many kinds of ducks that are over wintering in the Puget Sound. We may also see a few shore birds & upland birds. This is an easy trip. You must feel comfortable climbing over a few beach logs & walking short distances on sand. Please also come properly prepared for winter weather. Bring a lunch. Winter Storm warnings will cancel.
