Meet at the Sixth Avenue Park and Ride (7201 6th Avenue) at 7:20 am to carpool to the trail head.  

From US Highway 101, turn left on Louella Road and follow it for one mile to Palo Alto Road.  Turn left on Palo Alto Road and follow it for 4.6 miles, where it becomes Forest Road 28.  Follow FR 28 for one mile to FR 2880. Turn right on FR 2880, cross the Dungeness River to FR 2870, turn left and follow FR 2870 for 2.7 miles to FR 2860.  Turn right and follow FR 2860 for 6 miles to the Upper Dungeness Trail 833, at 2,500 feet above sea level.
