The Mountaineers are now allowing Mountaineer sponsored hikes with dogs. All members are invited to join hikes with dogs, but they must love dogs. Twin Lakes (M) (GT 136 Tyler Peak) 7.6 mi 2150’ gain. This hike starts at the Tunnel Creek trailhead in the Olympic National Forest. Trail follows Tunnel Creek passing through imposing stand of old-growth hemlock and fir trees. At 2.7 miles we reach Tunnel Creek Shelter. The trail crosses the creek, then switchbacks a dozen times as it climbs steeply to Twin Lakes. Meet at the Mud Bay Park and Ride at 7am. Sign up directly with the leader before Thur. Aug. 26.
