Please note that this trip is a modification of the standard template for the Tubal Cain Mine trail. We will be going beyond the mine, climbing an additional 1000+ feet, and hiking to Buckhorn Lake. Once we get above the mine we are out in the open with beautiful views of Buckhorn Mountain. The total round trip distance will be about 12.5 miles. In addition, if there is time and interest, we may make a side trip on the way back to visit the B-17 crash site, up the Tull Canyon trail. This adds 2.5 miles.
