We will meet at the beach at the park at 4:00 to spend 45 minutes enjoying the -2.0 low tide. Then we will head into the forest for the beautiful, well signed loop walk.
Be sure to bring beach shoes that can get wet and good hiking shoes to change into.
We hope to see oysters, crabs, sand dollars, cool seaweeds, and shellfish farming. This is a very interesting low tide beach.
A small snack will be provided before heading into the woods, or bring your own.
A Discover Pass is required and parking can be a challenge, especially in the lower lot that is by the beach. Don't be surprised if you need to park in the upper lot and walk down, so leave time for parking.
Required Equipment
Kids should bring a small backpack with waist strap that includes water, snack, spare clothing, sun glasses.
Rain and wind protection may well be needed. Check and dress for the weather.
Buckets and sealife guides might be fun. Good shoes for the beach include strap on sandals with good soles, rubber boots, beach shoes, and crumby old shoes you don't mind getting wet.
Be sure to bring good walking shoes and dry socks for the forest!
Maps will be provided.
