Day Hike - Thorp Lake & Lookout

The hike is a moderate loop route including Thorp Lake, Thorp Mountain, and Little Joe Lake . This is a 10 mile hike with 2,300 ft of elevation gain. The views and scenery are fantastic and two beautiful lakes are along the route. With August heat we need to bring adequate water for this hike.

There will be two  carpool meeting locations on this hike. The  first one is Green Lake Park and Ride at 6:15 am and leaving for the Preston Park and Ride at 6:30 am . The Preston Park and Ride hikers will meet there at 6:45 am  and with arrival of the Green Lake Park and Ride hikers we will leave at 7:00 am as a group to the trail head. We should arrive at the trail head between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. 

Driving directions : From Seattle drive East on I-90 to take exit 80 . Head North on Bullfrog Road, and at the round-about junction with State Route 903, go left into Roslyn on SR 903 and continue through town and up the valley. At mile 13 from the roundabout turn left onto French Cabin Road , Forest Road 4308 , .Drive 3.25 miles up Forest Road 4308 to Forest Road 4312 on the right. Go right and drive 1.5 miles to another road junction with Forest Road 4312-121 . Park here and do not block the gate.
