Our primary destination will be Olallie Lake along the Pratt corridor, a gentle grade but longer than the hike from Exit 45. Expect snow the whole way, but packed enough that microspikes should suffice. If new snow in late spring turns this into a snowshoe I will give participants an alternate lower-altitude trip along the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie. Bring microspikes and poles. If the group agrees, we will add a side trip to Talapus Lake (<2 miles) before returning to the cars. Hello Hiker email will have more details.
Spring is a great time to listen to birds, capture beauty, and appreciate Mother Nature so if the weather allows, we'll take a few sensory pauses of 3-5 minutes to enjoy our surroundings. It is a great kick-off for spring conditioning.
Meet at Pratt Lake Trailhead (EXIT 47 off I-90, NOT EXIT 45 - this way we avoid the dirt road approach in early season) at 8 a.m. geared up and ready for introductions so we can walk by 8:15 a.m. Coordinate carpooling among yourselves according to Mountaineers guidelines.
