Grab your reflective clothing, your light vest or safety vest, and a flashlight or headlamp for an evening trip in downtown Tacoma with holiday lights on display. On this trip we plan to  visit the University of Washington Tacoma campus and stop by the library to see the firey red Chihuly glass chandelier, the Bridge of Glass which has a brilliant glow at night, the  theater  district, McMenamins Elks Temple, the Reflecting Pool along the Thea Foss waterway, and some other unique spots in Tacoma that you may not know about.

After checking out the downtown scene we will all visit the Museum of Glass. Admission is free to the public on the third Thursday of the month in the evening. The trip will end by 8 pm when the museum closes.

Sunset is at approximately 4:20 pm on this date so our meeting time will be in the dark. Being visible will be important so we can find each other easily. Consider a different trip if you do not have a means of being visible.

Walking in an urban environment will require staying together as a group, being aware of our surroundings, and taking precautions when crossing streets as a group.  The trip leaders have been trained in pedestrian safety and all participants will be expected to follow their instructions in order to keep the group safe.  Also, please note that there are lots of stairs on the route, so participants must be comfortable going up and down stairs.
