6:45 AM at South Renton P&R
This is a beautiful hike with a wide variety of habitats to enjoy, which leads to lots of plants and wildflowers. We should see lilies, paintbrush, monkeyflower. Marmots, too. Due to the distance and elevation gain we will need to set a moderate to brisk pace in order to finish the hike and get everyone home at a reasonable hour. This means that protracted stops to ID plants will be kept to a minimum. Cameras are encouraged and we will have lots to talk about at lunch. Parking at this trailhead is very limited so carpooling is strongly encouraged. We will meet at the South Renton P&R; at 6:45 and plan on being at the trailhead at 8:45. This trailhead requires a Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park pass or entrance fee. Contact asst. leader Eric Smith with questions. (253) 880-4561
