Day Hike - Stan's Overlook

Explore the west end of the Rattlesnake Mountain trail through a forest canopy to a viewpoint with a picnic table overlooking the Snoqualmie Valley.

  • Moderate, Strenuous
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 4.8 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,020 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,100 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph

Meet at 10 AM at the trailhead, near the restrooms, reached by taking Exit 27 from I-90, turning right at the end of the exit and right again shortly before reaching  the end of the road into the West Rattlesnake Mountain parking lot.  Each car parked there must display the Discover Pass.

This is a pleasant hike through a DNR managed forest alternating deciduous and evergreen trees, to a viewpoint with a picnic table.  We return by the same route.  The only restroom facility on the hike is at the trailhead, but there will be an opportunity for bathroom breaks in the woods during our lunch stop.

The recent addition of a bike trail that starts at the same trailhead has increased the number of cars in the parking lot on Saturdays, so this hike is scheduled on a weekday, when more parking is usually available.
