Day Hike - Squak Mountain: Sycamore Access

Rising up to Spring 2025 mini-conditioning series. Not for beginner hikers. This is one in a series of eight Friday morning hikes with the goal of waking up winter muscles to prepare for Spring hiking in April and beyond. READ LEADER'S NOTES BEFORE REGISTERING

  • Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,500 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 1,600 ft
  • Pace: 1.75-2.0 avg moving pace (as an avg this means some parts will be faster)
  • To register, your Mntnrs activities list must show that you hiked summer-fall 2024.  You will be removed from the roster if you do not meet this requirement.
  • This is not a beginner hike series. The expectation is that you are a seasoned hiker in adequate condition; except, like me, you haven’t done much hiking since 2024 summer/fall. This is your opportunity to organize your morning, your hiking gear and practice getting your prepared-self to the trailhead. Hikes in this series are 3-8 miles and 600’-2100’ elevation gain with a target 1.75-2mph moving pace. The distance and/or gain progresses with each hike.
  • Mini-conditioning is the goal of this series of eight Friday morning hikes in February & March.  "Mini" means this is only one part of your overall conditioning for readiness for 2025 hiking.
  • If you’re a lot slower or faster than the stated pace, these hikes are NOT for you.
  • The full list of hikes, dates and stats can be viewed at this LINK
  • Meeting Place:  Extremely limited parking near TH. We will meet at a carpool location & take only 1 vehicle to the TH. Group size smaller for this trip so we can fit into 1 vehicle.
  • Time: We'll leave the carpool location at 8:30am
