10:00 AM at Federal Way Transit Center
Saturday August 5. Moderate hike. Social paced. This is one of my favorite hikes in Mt Rainer National Park! Hopefully we will see some wild flowers - and maybe some marmots too! A great trail, first through forest, and then a short side trip to awesome Spray Falls, before going on up to the meadows and views of the mountain. We will have a late lunch in Spray Park, then hike farther up a ways in the direction the 6400' ridge above Seattle Park for more views. 1,200'+ elevation gain in, 300' out. 6+ miles RT. Mt Rainier West(GT). Book, 50 Hikes in Mt. Rainier National Park. Meet at 10:00 am. at the new Federal Way Transit Center, in the west side of the lower level of the parking garage. MRNP pass or pay fee at gate for parking at trail head. Cell & home: (253) 797-4895.
