Meet at 9:30 am at the Bresemann Forest entrance near Sprinker Recreation Center.

This is one of my favorite urban hikes and fall makes it even better. A bit of forest, a bit of water, wonderful fall colors, and not too many people. You can expect the vine maples and chestnut trees to be turning colors, loads of squirrels collecting nuts for the winter, and lots of ducks and lily pads. Herons also occasionally visit the various ponds along our route.

We will hike the shorter one mile forest loop on good dirt tread past an old mill pond and fish passage then cross over to Spanaway Park to hike the longer loop along Spanaway Creek and Lake where there are nice water views along an easy paved trail. This is a great option for beginner hikers or those looking for a short trip to stretch their legs that won't take all day.
