Mt. St. Helens is one of the most unique destinations in the Pacific Northwest, thanks to a minor geologic event in 1980. Join us as we explore this ridge that offers fantastic view of the mountain, the surrounding lakes, and more. As it's a long drive, we'll leave early. The hike is fairly exposed, so the early start will also help us beat the heat. We'll aim to reach the saddle, and perhaps beyond, depending on how the group is feeling and the conditions. By late June, this ridge should hopefully be free of snow, and perhaps we'll encounter the elk that frequent this area. After our hike, we'll take a short drive up the road to the Johnston Ridge Visitor Center, time permitting. This location offers a great view of the mountain, plus a nice clean bathroom. New and non-members are welcome. Sign up early as this hike will likely fill fast! Email leader with questions. See you soon!
