This gorgeous hike follows the Pacific Crest trail going north from Chinook Pass to a pretty alpine lake (Sheep Lake) . We will hike through fragrant meadows with lupine, indian paintbrush to Sheep Lake and then ascend to Sourdough Gap.
If the weather is fine and we have some good views I intend to extend the hike I mile extra round trip to the Crystal Lake overlook. It's a great place for lunch. We will return the same way. The round trip would therefore increase from 7 - 8 miles but no increase in elevation gain.
