Day Hike - Snow Lake (Snoqualmie)

Join the Tacoma Singles Activities Committee on a day hike to Snow Lake. The trail goes up above the South Fork Snoqualmie River through forests and over a pass to a beautiful alpine lake.

Tacoma area hikers will meet at 7:20 am at the 56th St. Park n Ride (east side of I-5). 

Take I-90 E to Exit 52, Snoqualmie Pass West.  Turn left (north), crossing under the freeway.  Take second right, traveling 1.3 miles to end of road at Alpental Ski Area parking lot.  

 Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass required.

The trail starts out with a 200 foot climb up log steps then a gradual descent in the forest.  One mile in is a talus slope and a view of Chair Peak in the distance.  An optional side-trip at 1.75 miles is a spur trail that goes up the valley to an overlook of Source Lake.  Snow Lake is covered in snow and lake access is not feasible at this time.   

There's an abundance of wildflowers, chipmunks, picas, waterfalls and spectacular views.
