Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass required.

The trail starts out with a 200 foot climb up log steps then a gradual descent in the forest.  One mile in is a talus slope and a view of Chair Peak in the distance.  An optional side-trip at 1.75 miles is a spur trail that goes up the valley to an overlook of Source Lake.  Snow Lake is covered in snow and lake access is not feasible at this time.
