Old-growth forest and waterfalls. If you’ve been on 410, you’ve seen Skookum Creek falls (6 miles north of the turn-off to Crystal on the west side of 410), here’s a chance to see it up-close. We’ll also get some views of Snoquera Falls across the valley. This will be an out and back hike totaling 10 miles. The Skookum Flats trail, #1194 , follows the White River and gets good reviews. For instance: http://www.seattlepi.com/news/article/Hike-of-the-Week-Flowers-and-falls-in-their-1089204.php I hiked this on 5/27/15 and it's a good trail. I didn't see many wildflowers. There is an easy (for me and I am wimpy) creek crossing. You may want to bring poles; I'll bring some and you'll be welcome to use them. The trailhead is very close to 410 and the FS road (#73) is in good shape. It was about an hour drive from the Renton park&ride. There is a .1 of a mile steep hike/T1.5 scramble up to the base of Skookum Creek Falls that will be optional for the adventurous. I did see a few mountain bikers, they were very friendly and cautious.
