  • Mileage: 8.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,900 ft
  • Pace: Middle-aged Average

The official meeting place is the East Sunset Trailhead parking lot in Issaquah at 8:00 AM. It is 100 yards south of I-90 at exit #18.  The address is 665 E Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA. We can carpool from there to the trailhead.

If you are coming from the south-end up SR 18, please make a note of that in the carpool notes so you can arrange a carpool from the Maple Valley/Kent area AND/OR we can meet you in North Bend.

NOTE:  Date changed from 9/17 to 9/19.

Silver Peak is south of Snoqualmie Pass.  We will drive via a dirt road around the ski areas to where it crosses the PCT.  We will hike the PCT south below the east side of Silver, then ascend Silver from the south.

Most of the trail should be in good shape, but I recall that the final ascent trail is pretty rocky and there are a few spots that WTA hikers call a scramble.  Please review some of the trip reports here: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/silver-peak#trip-report-listing-header
