Day Hike - Sequalitchew Canyon & Edmond Marsh

Let's explore some beautiful trails in the town of Dupont and learn about the rich history of the area. We will cross Edmond Marsh on an old railroad causeway and then make our way down the Sequalitchew Canyon to a beach on Puget Sound.

On this hike we will make a few stops to talk about the history of the area including the Nisqually winter village, a Hudson's Bay Company fort, and a Dupont explosives factory.  A trail map may be downloaded from the City of Dupont: Trail Map  

Please bring appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for cool temperatures, rain, and wind at the beach.  A lunch stop is planned for the beach, if weather permits.  

The hike may be rescheduled if heavy rain and winds are forecast.  

Further trip details will be sent to trip participants a few days before the hike.  

The group will meet at Sellers Park, 600 Barksdale Ave, Dupont, WA 98327.  This is NOT the trailhead by the Dupont Civic Center; it is a city park located in the old historic Dupont Village.  No parking pass is required.  The meeting time will be sent a few days prior to the hike to participants.
