West Tiger Mountain No. 3


Day Hike - Section Line Trail

This is an after-hours conditioning hike with preference for students in the Foothills Scrambling and Climbing courses. Let's take advantage of a rain-free evening to get some hiking in while you get to know some of your fellow classmates.

We'll meet just outside the gate of the entrance to High Point at 4:15pm and start moving at 4:25.  More details will be emailed to participants.

This hike will follow the WA State Phased Approach to Reopening Business and Modifying Physical Distancing and the Mountaineers hiking guidelines for COVID-19 that apply on the date of this trip. Please make sure to have your mask ready for wearing at our meeting spot and any other time you are within 6 feet of another individual. Carpooling outside of your household is not recommended.

Participants will need to bring 10 Essentials, along with a headlamp and a spare headlamp or spare batteries.  It will be up to individuals to decide how much weight they will carry. Please leave sharp and pokey things like ice axes and crampons at home.

We'll meet outside the gate, hike into the High Point parking lot, do our Mountaineers circle and then hike up to West Tiger 3 by the Section Line Trail and return on Tiger #3 Trail.  We'll regroup at trail intersections and plan to be quick at the summit.
