This is a moonlight hike. In the afternoon, we will travel along Johnson Ridge and over Scorpion Mt., reaching Joan Lake at 4.5 miles. We’ll climb back up to Scorpion Mt. to watch the sunset, while the full moon rises over the Cascade crest just minutes later. Soon thereafter we’ll start back down the trail, which is both in the open and woods as it winds along the ridge. A headlamp is strongly recommended. This hike is weather permitting.
