Day Hike - Saint Edward State Park

An easy, 7 mile hike with 1,300 feet of elevation gain. This hike takes you to the Northeastern shore of Lake Washington through quiet ravines blanketed with maidenhair and sword fern.

Saint Edward State Park is located at the north end of Lake Washington in Kenmore, Washington.  We will be meeting in the Saint Edward State Park parking lot next to the old seminary building at 8:30 a.m.  It takes approximately 45 minutes to get to the park from Seattle.  Here are the directions to the park:

From I-405 northbound: Take exit #20-A (116th St. N.E.) and turn west (left). Travel 4.5 miles. (At 98th Ave., the road name changes to Juanita Dr.) The park entrance is on the left. There is a large sign indicating "Bastyr University" at the entrance. Follow the road a short distance and veer right; continue straight until you reach the parking lot next to the seminary building.

From I-405 southbound: Exit at Hwy. 522 (exit #23-B). Drive through Bothell to Kenmore. Turn left at 68th Ave. (68th turns into Juanita Dr.) Park is 1.5 miles on the right. There is a large sign indicating "Bastyr University" at the entrance. Follow the road a short distance and veer right; continue straight until you reach the parking lot next to the seminary building.

From I-5: Take exit #175 (145th St.) and travel east (right turn) to Bothell Way. Turn left. Travel north to 68th Ave. in Kenmore. (68th turns into Juanita Dr). Park is 1.5 miles on the right. There is a large sign indicating "Bastyr University" at the entrance. Follow the road a short distance and veer right; continue straight until you reach the parking lot next to the seminary building.

 

I will lead this hike at a moderate pace with plenty of water/snack breaks.
