Day Hike - Rock Candy Mountain

We have a few options for this hike that can decrease elevation, make it a loop hike, or involve a summit! Join us for a close hike that provides a good workout and some nice views on a clear day. Conditioning Hiking Series students are welcome on this hike.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,837 ft
  • Pace: casual with frequent breaks

Meeting time and location will be sent to registered participants a few days before the hike.  Plan on an 8:00 a.m. start time for hiking.

Prepare for any kind of weather and cooler, windier conditions as the elevation increases.  Ten essentials, no cotton, water, and lunch.  We can be flexible about the ultimate distance and elevation gain as the time approaches and we reach a group consensus; the hike could be as short as 5 miles and elevation gain could be either 1000 feet or 1700 feet if we summit Rock Candy Mountain.
