Day Hike - Redmond Watershed Preserve

We'll hike about 3.5 miles on some of the preserve's 5 miles of trails, then picnic after.

Meet at 10:00 a.m. at the south end of the parking lot, near the restrooms.

To get to the Redmond Watershed Preserve by car: from the intersection of WA520/Avondale Road and Union Hill Road, drive  1.0 mile on Avondale and veer right onto Novelty Hill Road. Take Novelty Hill Rd. for 2.2 miles through a traffic circle and a traffic light, then turn left into the preserve near 218th Ave. NE. There is a sign on the left and a left turn lane. The preserve has rolling hills and creek bottoms with second-growth Douglas fir, western hemlock, and a variety of deciduous trees. The trail has short ups and downs with a total up of about 300 ft. elevation gain. Some parts of the trail have imbedded rocks and can be muddy. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic in the picnic area near the parking lot after the hike.
