Actual mileage will be more like 8 mi. RT.
We will hike to Red Top lookout which has a 360 view of the surrounding area, a great spot for a geology lesson. While admiring the views we will learn about the geology of the surrounding terrain, including batholiths, agates, fold belts, faults, gold and coal mines, the local dike swarm and others. Listen quietly and you will hear the rocks tell their ancient stories.
