8:00 AM at Tibbets P&R;, Issaquah
Meeting Place will be at Tibbetts Lot P&R;, 1675 Newport Wy NW in Issaquah. To get to Tibbettes Lot take exit 15 from I-90. Turn right (South) to the 3rd traffic light. Turn left on Newport Wy NW, then on the first intersection turn right into the Tibbetts Lot BEFORE you pass the baseball field. ATTENTION: This is NOT Tibbets Valley Park P&R;! From there we will be carpooling to Snoqualmie Point TH: From eastbound I-90 take exit 27. At end of off-ramp turn right. Continue to follow this road as it winds up a hill. Entrance to the parking area will be on the right-hand side. We will leave one car at Snoqualmie Point TH and will consolidate into the remaining cars to go to Rattlesnake Ridge TH: From eastbound I-90 take exit 32 to Rattlesnake Lake. We will be hiking from Rattlesnake Ridge TH to Snoqualmie Point TH. The trail is in pretty good condition and very well marked. The total length of this trail is about 10.5 miles with elevation gain of 2,800’. We’ll have two longer breaks, the first at Rattlesnake Ridge (breakfast or snacks) and the second at Grand Prospect viewpoint (lunch time). This hike will probably take no more than 5-6 hours so by 3 p.m. we should be back in our cars. The pace will be either moderate or a little bit faster depending on the group and weather condition. SPECIAL NOTE: This hike we be challenging because of possible extreme weather conditions. Extra clothes for winter conditions are strongly recommended for this hike because it is end of the season for this particular hike. I suggest using hiking poles for your safety because of possible icy condition on the trail. I will briefly check that we have all necessary gear at Tibbetts P&R; so plan ahead and prepare.
