Day Hike - Rattlesnake Mountain (West)

Ascend the Rattlesnake Ridge Trail southeast from Snoqualmie Point as far as the Grand Prospect for a good workout and some great views on a fine day.

Our trail follows the Rattlesnake Mountain Ridge Trail southeast from Snoqualmie Point to Grand Prospect and back along a mix of new and old growth forest with some open spaces on a clearly marked well maintained trail with great views on a fine day.

The first nice viewpoint is Stan's Overlook, about 2.5 miles in (elev. 2100').  From there we should be able to see Mt. Si and the Snoqualmie Valley.  We will reach our turn-round point at Grand Prospect at about 4.9 miles.  This precipice is due south of the town of North Bend.  After we eat lunch, we will return by the same route. Yaktrax or other traction devices could be an advantage near the summit if the snowpack lasts. 8.4 miles round trip and 2,200 elevation gain.

This fairly strenuous hike will be led at a moderate pace. If you have any concerns about your ability to cope with the distance, elevation gain and pace, please contact the leader.

A WA State Discover Pass is required for all vehicles parked at Snoqualmie Point
