Meet 07:30am by the walking trail gate near the north end of the main parking lot. If heading East on I-90, take North Bend Exit 32, turn right and head up hill a few miles to Rattlesnake Lake. Once you pull into recreation area parking lot, the small overflow lot will be on your right and the larger parking lot will be a little further inside and to the left. The meeting place is at the walk-in gate just past the overflow lot. Please be on-time.
This is a great hike for newer hikers wanting to build their fitness for bigger hikes. It involves a decent but gradual elevation gain, has big reward views at the top, and is not a huge time commitment for the day. The pace will be very casual (slower) and will most likely involve stopping a few times along the way to accommodate the slowest hiker. A basic to intermediate fitness level is a good idea because hiking uphill for almost 2 miles is hard for those not accustomed to it. Feel free to bring a camera to capture the magnificent views.
